Colossus Reborn
The back of the front racks of Colossus
When we first got Colossus working in 1996, nothing was known about any possible circuits
on the backs of the front rack apart from the counter panels. However with the release of the war
time Albert small report, of which we obtained a copy in late 1996, we could start putting more of it together. We could now see where some of the circuit fragments had to go and could gradually
incorporate them.
The panels on the back of the K rack switch panel work with the switches there. These panels
have now been built but not yet connected into Colossus.
The panels on the back of the J rack work with the small jack field on the J rack.
Again these are in place but not wired into Colossus.
The row of uniselectors top right on the picture are chasers for the start position uniselectors
on the W rack, the Thyratron rack.
In the year since these pictures were taken, Robert Alexander has wired these up and connected
them over the top of Colossus to the W rack. It now all awaits testing.
